The Infinite Player is the one who plays the Infinite Game: the player underneath every role, designing the games worth playing. The founder, the officer, the parent and the person everyone calls when it breaks are characters, each worn for a season. The player wearing them is the part that stays.

## The Infinite Game

The Infinite Game is the one where the aim is to keep playing. Finite games run inside it: the career, the business, the degree and the quarter. Each has rules, a scoreboard and an end. A side quest is a finite adventure you choose inside the Infinite Game.

How the player moves

## Three moves

- ### Player and character  
A role is a “jacket” worn for a season. The first move is noticing the one wearing it. The jacket fits differently after that.
- ### The playing field  
Every game was designed by someone, on purpose or by inheritance. The player gets to design the next one: its rules, its rhythm and the room it’s played in.
- ### The Game Within the Game  
Under every outer game runs an inner one. When the inner game goes quiet, the work goes flat while the scoreboard keeps climbing. Found again, it’s kept by practice.

Where to start

## Start with one hour

One Alive Thing is a free hour for the player. You find what’s alive in you, choose one small piece of it and make it real before you get up. It’s the playing field at its smallest: one hour, one choice, one made thing.
